The name of this scent is derived from the Patchouli-Amber accord at its base. It opens with a light citrus-lavender with a hint of jasmine that quickly gives way to a warm, sweet woody-resinous heart of ylang-ylang, vetiver, olibanum and tonka. I detect vanilla and myrrh along with the patchouli and amber as it dries down, with glimpses of sandalwood along the way. Although it's a bit sweeter than I usually prefer, there are times when it seems just right, and it does seem to get favorable comments from women.

I'm also convinced this scent was the inspiration for Joop! Homme (even to the magenta color of the liquid), which smells very similar in composition, though Joop! Hoome is more complex, a little brighter and more concentrated, as one would expect from a fragrance created in the late 80's as opposed to the 60's. To those that miss this one of the Nine Flags collection, I'd definitely recommend Joop! as the next best thing.

This is definitely the BEST fragrance ever. It must have pheramones in it because when my husband wears it, it drives me crazy. He still has some & "saves" it for special occasions. Wish they would make it or something like it again!!
