I'll gladly give this one a A for effort conceptually, but man, this would make Gucci Guilty Absolute blush. It's truly literal in its approach. I feel the motor oil, the car grease, hot asphalt, visions of spark plugs dance in my head. I eventually feel as if I am lost in the recesses of a catalytic converter, a fever dream of checkered flags waving furiously and country bumpkins at a demolition derby.
Objectively, it works, and its truly fascinating, but I think I'll stick with Santa Maria Novella's Nostalgia as its gasoline is followed by a pleasant development of cool leather with more subtle tar and minimal ash.
