Latest Reviews of Osmanthus
The osmanthus is one of my favorite floral notes with its elegant moderately sweet-creamy floral aroma with fruity undertones, often compared to vaguely honeyed apricot and peach, and honey. It possesses that typically silky lightly leathery depth that gives it warmth and velvety sophistication. Delicate yet distinctive, it evokes late summer blooms and golden light. Osmanthus by L'Erbolario is a fresh floral semi-oriental fragrance for women launched in 2016. It is a bright transparent fragrance reminiscent of a fresh spring sunrise with the universe and its creatures ready to wake up and vibrate. L’Erbolario Osmanthus is definitely a delicate and luminous fragrance that blends soft floral elegance with a hint of fruity freshness. At its heart lies the osmanthus flower, offering a creamy apricot-like sweetness balanced by airy, silky-leathery and green nuances. The scent feels light yet refined, gently enveloping the skin with a sense of serenity and understated charm. Ideal for those who appreciate subtle, graceful florals with a touch of natural brightness. L’Erbolario Osmanthus is like a quiet breeze through a sunlit garden, a soft, golden and tenderly sweet breeze. The scent of osmanthus blooms drifts in the air, delicate yet radiant, with whispers of ripe apricot and fresh petals. It feels like silk against the skin, a gentle caress of nature’s grace. Subtle green notes as Angelica plus a cocktail of fresh fruits and orange blossoms ground its sweetness, evoking early morning walks beneath flowering trees. It’s a fragrance of quiet beauty, intimate, luminous and effortlessly elegant. I agree with those retracing a similitude to Jour d'Hermes (2013) with its grapefruit, gardenia, green notes and musk, as well as Ginepro Nero was very similar to Terre d'Hermes (2006) and it shows L'Erbolario is kind of influenced by Hermes. The fragrance opens with a fresh, slightly citrusy brightness, introducing a soft sparkle that quickly gives way to the heart of the perfume, the osmanthus flower, with its signature apricot-like sweetness and creamy floral warmth. As it settles, green and slightly woody-musky nuances emerge, adding depth and elegance, while the dry-down leaves a soft, clean and subtly musky trail, lingering close to the skin with refined gentleness. Performances are average as usual for the most part of L'Erbolario's creations.
A calm, elegant and a little bit mossy floral osmanthus-forward scent. As all L'Erbolario scents, it's longlasting and of good quality, and has a hint of certain dustiness that's somehow prevalent in their scents (to me). There's something with my nose, as I seem to be quite anosmic to L'Erbolario's citrusy notes - I seem to never smell them, all their scents go straights into their hearts for me.
Neutral because I never seemed to reach for it despite having enough respect for it - so I found it a better home along the way. There are not many exceptions where I love florals.
Some people say it reminds them of Jour d'Hermes a bit, try it if you like the style.
