Oxiana fragrance notes
- Musk, patchouli, opoponax, myrrh
Latest Reviews of Oxiana
Chemical plastic burns off to a woody forest scent with loam and some incense feel. Overall warm and smooth but darkly woody like a forest floor in October. Moody.
Thoroughly modern but totally nondescript, apart from a vague aura of sticking plaster which is all that is left in some ultra-minimalist apologies for perfumes nowadays after everything interesting has been taken out. You might find it behind a glass case at your local Boots chemist along with other similar products.

This is genius! Might not be your cup of (mushroom, ahem) tea, but the composition is most unique, balanced throughout its development and never losing character (even if the profile does change).
The opening is very, very, very damp and dark, cold but live/organic, PRECISELY like the underbelly of a wet mushroom. Myrrh? Yes, but liquid, not smoky, and not warm at all- as though the resin is newly forming, and not exploited yet by time, pressure, or ritualic fire.
The middle is sharp but drier, an ever-evolving mix of patchouli, opoponax (a rather neutral one), some cedar, fern, some cranberry, and a very, very distant peony. The musk is there, growing in width as the hours go by.
My nose can't really pinpoint the drydown, although there's a sweet note (linden flowers, but how did they ever make it into the base??) that comes through beautifully, like reaching a clearing with sun patches in the grass.
The odd one out: 10m or so into it, there's a moment of antibacterial soap.
The whole thing makes me think of: mischievous fairies and giant bumble bees.
Like all other Profvmvm I've tried, this, too, has radioactive projection and sillage.

A most intriguing scent due to the intense myrrh note. I'm reminded of "golden, magical mushrooms". Musky and earthy, this one has the scent of the forest floor and the fairies that flit among the flowers. I wish more people would try this and weigh in with their opinion. I, personally enjoy this dusky, off-beat scent very much but you must try it for yourself. It's all about the myrrh.
