Latest Reviews of Parisian Musc
Received a generous sample of this fragrance when I purchased a pricey orange blossom perfume from an online perfume retailer. These days, musk perfumes and musk notes are out of my wheelhouse but I applied this fragrance. And I really like it!
Not sure what to say because I know very little about musk and musk-centric fragrances. I used to own, I used to love Musc Ravageur. Seems like centuries back-smile. But Musc Ravageur and Maurice Roucel are in a league of their own. And frankly, I grew weary of the fragrance when everyone was wearing it.
So, Parisian Musc is a nice fragrance! I definitely detect something aldehydic in the opening. The opening is also fresh, green and nearly floral. I suppose in the opening I detect the cedar and the fig notes. The opening is very vegetal; the cedar notes smell more like the needles, or sap of a cedar tree and not the heavy, cedar wood. Does this make sense?
I suppose the mid-notes and landing notes are all about ambroxan and musk. That's it! Despite what one might surmise from its ingredients, this fragrance never feels thick, dense, or heavy. The fragrance is ethereal, almost veil like. Given this, I can absolutely see either a man, or a woman wearing this fragrance.
I've sampled a few Mature Premiere fragrances in my lifetime; may have owned a few. My recollection is performance is minimal for the price point with minimal longevity, silage is low (which is okay).
Overall, a crowd pleaser! Cannot imagine why anyone would dislike this perfume.

Someone described this perfume as "white noise" and that describes it well. This is supposedly a minimalist scent but it's really overpowering and loud. Doesn't smell like Philosykos to me at all. Instead, it reminds me of laundry detergent. Not elegant, not sensual, not Parisian in the least. Yes, reader, I disliked it immediately. (There is something in almost all the perfumes I've tried from this line that 'scratches' my nose unpleasantly... perhaps it's the same aromachemical that makes them airy and projecting.)

I am certain there is next to NO natural ambrette seed in this white (noise) musk. This is a LOT to take in, though.
Perhaps the work of Aurelien Guichard is not to my taste, but jeez Louise, he crams a lot of high impact stuff into his fragrances. Then there is the fig accord and c-18 gamma-lactone that makes it feel like a bossy, loud, demanding Philosykos who desperately needs finishing school.
This is for the performance bros: it's got projection, sillage, and longevity for days, but very little in the way of nuanced beauty.
