This is the first aquatic I ever smelled - quite an interesting one to start off on. Since I had no baseline, I just mentally linked the word "aquatic" along with what the smell made me think of. Interestingly enough, it is quite a vivid scent for me. I was born in Florida and lived there for many years. This is the scent of going to the beach during stormy, overcast weather. Swimming in the ocean, alongside (yellow) seaweed (sargassum?). Walking out of the ocean and onto the sand, the salt, water and seaweed all in the air - this is this scent. Not 100%... but this is what comes to mind. Interesting production from landlocked Switzerland. I find this is good for rainy days, but definitely not an everyday scent for me.

It's unlike tauer, so first process that information.. There's no rose or incense or spice thats going to sneak up on you..

Is it an aquatic, god no. So out with the aqua di gio crowd.

What it is, it's a sharp blue fennel based scent which doesn't have a drydown. Linear, laundry clean, windy perfume. There's an ink like note as well.

If ur wearing a white shirt, blue jeans on a summer afternoon, u cud perhaps slip by as "what the" crowd.

Bottom line, its not for everyone... If you like the smell of laundry clean linens, if u like being stark, this will fit right up ur alley.

A very strong scent. It's weird to me; metallic, plastic, aquatic. I gave it a few hours to see how it would evolve on my skin, but, honestly, every sniff made me feel slightly nauseous. Not for me!

With Phtaloblue Andy Tauer set about trying to recalibrate our expectations of aquatics, setting his sights on the boundless blue of the open sea. For me, he only half succeeds: there is an expansive ozonic quality to the aquatic effects, evoking bright blue skies with the sun shining down, but the accompanying salty, silty marine smell is absent. The pertinent question, however, is whether it is missed. As a fresh composition that pairs aquatics with what feels like the scents carried on mountain air, it is a fantasy of cleanliness and light, with bright citruses piping in the mix and airbrushed floral notes that take on some of their tang. Cool green herbal notes extend it almost into alpine meadow territory (perhaps the pristine adland version).
A bouncy, light yet persistent composition, perhaps a touch less complex in terms of what we expect from Tauer, but with a will to please. I have a feeling the take-up on this one will be decided by the wearer's tolerance of aquatic notes.

Unfortunately i couldn't abide this on my skin, will all the elements combining to produce a melted plastic mass. It had a strong combination of vegetal, mineral and chemical. Sea/marine notes like this, i have not experienced. In this case longevity is good, but unfortunate.

The first aquatic I've smelled that smells properly of the sea to me, and I live on the coast. Another winner from land locked Switzerland! Most 'aquatics' seem to just smell over the top and chemically.
