As told this is a synthetic, too sweety remake of the original. It's unbalanced with the attempt to create a modern version of the great original. Too spicy and lacking that wonderful forest's whiff of the original one while leaning endly on the soapy side.

Not certain why all the 'hate' for this fragrance. First, it cannot be confused in anyway with the Original Pino and should not be compared as such. They are nothing alike. Pino extreme is more complex. I have over 100 fragrances and this still is in the top 10 and still receives complements. There is nothing to compare it to. Closest notes I've found to this are in Paradox Green by Jacomo. On with my original review:

My vendor was out of Classic Pino Silvestre and offered for me to try Pino Extreme. My first reaction was 'Ugh". This is awful! I politely declined the purchase and continued on my way. After about 10 minutes with the test spray still on my arm, I could not believe how I was beginning to like the fragrance. It is nothing like Original Pino, but it is good. Very Refreshing and Very Outdoors. I've grown to love this and although it is difficult to find (no longer in production) it is still one of my favorites. It's not for everyone but Pino Extreme is definitely for me.

While the original from 1955 is plesant, this one alters a fairly good classic into an unbearable, ill-smelling parody. It's so typical for 1998- extremely sweet, awfully synthetic and somewhat soapy. The piney notes from the original have become bearably recognizable in this one. Pathetic and useless revisitation of a classic.
