The parfum in the canister is one knockout of a chypre, bursting with punchy green galbanum and peachy aldehydes, Soon thereafter, a bracing hyacinth, white flowers such as jasmine, and a woody geranium dominate the heart. There is then this fantastic phase that becomes increasingly cedar-y and mossy, with a vetiver moving forward further into the dry down. The advertising for RITZ asserted that it's a "long-blooming perfume" and they were not wrong.
RITZ would tickle the fancy of those who love Givenchy III, Calandre, or Aliage.

If you lived through the disco era, you should remember this fragrance. It held its own amongst the Halston, Bill Blass, and Pierre Cardin fragrances of that time. A light airy woodsy-floral, very upbeat, and, to quote the other comments on here, very, very classy. There was a brief period of time this came out in an aerosol can, too, as a sales gimmick. Alas, like disco, this had to come to an end as the company is no longer in existence, but I really enjoyed this fragrance while it lasted.

I totaly agree with BayKAT For me the fragerance kasts at keast 8 hours and a man can wear it .It is unfirtunate that it has been discontinued You can get ut but it is expensive Such a shame that you cant get it .It was my sigmature scent in the late 70s !!!!!
OK, I like this scent and I'm goign to give it a good review, but gosh darn, I can't get the song 'Puttin' on the Ritz' out of my head long enough to enjoy it.
This is a 'coppery' scent with a lot of air. It's not too sweet, and not too heavy. It walks that thin line of harmony between a glorious woody base and gentle, earthy florals.
This doesn't change much of me, it basically is the same scent for a solid 4 hours. the drydown becomes more magical, morphing into something that is pure class.
I like this, but it's discontinued so probably hard to find. This is yet another fragrance that I"m scratching my head over; why did this one go by the wayside and other remained on the road? Who knows, but I highly recommend sampling this, it's very lovely.
