Les Néréides (2021)

This has a brief list of notes: star anise, mimosa & sandalwood. lt's warm, sweet & lightly spicy, but very soft, more like getting a whiff of mimosa on the breeze than smelling the actual flower. There's a tiny hint of that green, cucumber-like facet that mimosa has, & then after twenty minutes or so it's slightly powdery & more floral. ln the far drydown there's a creamy sandalwood, & at the six hour mark it's all quite faint, but still going as a skin scent fourteen hours in.

This isn't as powerful as other mimosa-based scents l've tried like Une Fleur de Cassie or Ashoka, but it's a light, pleasant & more work-friendly option for a sunny spring day. And l don't often mention the bottle, but this one is a nice chunky glass with pretty golden flowers, bees & butterflies on the back, & it makes me smile to look at it.
