The name "Smudge" evokes the smell of burning incense, sage, and palo santo. The scent lives up to that invocation. The smokiness is subtle and nowhere near as strong as the smokiness found in Beaufort Tonnerre or Tom Ford Tuscan Leather. When I wear it the tonka bean takes center stage - the sweeter notes always jump out on my skin. Although thankfully the patchouli stands out more on the dry down. If you are a fan of traditional incense and earthy scents this is a wonderful addition to your collection. It layers well with greener scents as well.

OMG...so, this has to be amongst the most putrid stuff I've ever attempted to wear. After spritzing a small amount from a sample onto my forearm/wrists, everyone in my home was gagging...both dogs, both cats and the husband.

I cannot imagine how anyone could possibly wear this stuff, let alone enjoy it, or love it. Smells like someone sat near a burning fire pit, or campfire for hours then tried to shower with Heeley's Cardinal. I had to shower and scrub for quite sometime to get the odor off my skin. Awful. A complete fail, IMHO.
