Forget about the notes, right off the bat, it's an overdose of cloves and clary sage along with a prominent dry and dusty tobacco leaf which I find extremely similar to Illuminum's Wild Tobacco. As it slowly transitions to the heart, it becomes aldehylic and soapy, with more tobacco and a synthetic animalic musk accord to the likes of ambercide. The dry down is virtually the same as Little Song's by Meo Fusciuni, as you are ultimately left with a tonka and vetiver combo accompanied by an unpleasant civet accord. As stated, various fragrances come to mind when smelling Tobak such as: Wild Tobacco by Illuminum, Peau by Arquiste, Equipage by Hermes, Nuit de Megeve by Eight & Bob, and Little song by Meo Fusciuni. Unfortunately, I'm left underwhelmed by most of these scents(except for Wild Tobacco), so naturally Tobak is easily a case of dismissal.

Well this is a beautiful creation and no mistake.
At first sniff it gave me a little familiar nudge;
something about it reminded me of something else.
I didn't have a note list but the vetiver and musk
were immediately apparent. Tobacco? Well, yes,
kinda....the sweet dried leaves of an old aromatic
pipe tobacco like Ogden's Redbreast Flake.
Cinnamon? Just a hint (thank goodness).
Tonka? Leather? Not jumping out at me folks.
No; it's back to that warm enveloping musk....and
then the penny dropped. Christopher Sheldrake's
gorgeous 1998 creation for Serge Lutens' 'Muscs
Koublai Khan'. The same subtle but vaguely corrupt
sweetness with its promise of carnal fulfilment.
Not lurid but adamantly enticing; Tobak is a wonderful
invocation of a hot, passionate Summer night.
