Profumi del Forte Vetiver Moderno (2017) is a fantastic take on musky vetiver supervised by the italian top nose Arturetto Landi (Profumi di Polignano, Pantheon Roma, Laboratorio Olfattivo, Calé Fragrance d'Autore etc). This central vetiver is just barely rooty, quite balanced, musky (white musk) and realistic, a tad dreamy exotic but mostly fruity floral, intellectual and mediterranean with hints of bergamot, aromatics, white musk and woodsy notes (a sort of brighter, more floral and spicier Lalique Encre Noir 2006 and basically something in the middle between the former and Byredo Bal d'Afrique 2009). This creation is pratically the second slightly lighter muskier edition (2017) of the previous richer Torre of Tuscany Vetiver Moderno (2011) which reproposes in here the same basic formula (of the former Torre of Tuscany) with several minor adjustments (strawberry in the top, carnation in place of gardenia and no more guaiac wood and patchouli in the base plus hints of ambergris). The current Profumi del Forte's formula is basically muskier and less woody. A lighter white musk provides finally a brighter airier more sensual mediterranean vibe. The first Torre of Tuscany version is slightly woodier and mossier despite the two fragrances are almost identical or at least very very similar. Profumi del Forte Vetiver Moderno is a mediterranean aromatic dominant spicy musky vetiver with a particular "fizzy-vibrant" influence produced by nutmeg, cardamom, grapefruit, rhubarb and aromatics (over a mossy woody base). This note of vetiver is sober but at same time floral, musky and aromatic. It possesses life and lyric. The drydown is musky and woody with hints of warm erotic ambergris and it's where this agricole vetiver settles down providing depth and mystery. In primis nutmeg and grapefruit provide a quite peppery/citric/tart intense vibe, than rhubarb, white musk and lavender imprint a fresh musky twist while the complex floral valzer performs in a particularly articulated way due to a main alternance between lily of the valley (noticeable) and smooth iris in particular (I don't smell the rose). A poetic, super balanced, musky mediterranean fragrance for romantic southern gentlemen of the piney italian tortuous coast, a virile scent full of charm for a veritable mediterranean seducer.
