I agree with most of the positive and neutral reviews of this, especially valkilmer's and kaizen's review, who described this cologne very well.

I rather like this one. It doesn't smell cheap or synthetic to me. I think this is a nice subtle, watery-woodsey, clean smelling scent with decent performance.

If you were to scoop out the fruit from a honeydew melon and leave a watery nectar on the rind, that's primarily what this smells like on my skin. There is a bit of pepper, and a nice sage note behind the melon. The overall impression makes me think of Aloe Vera, with its barely detectable "cytoplasmic" smell, and cucumber water.

If you want something with bravado, darkness, or machismo this couldn't be less like what you're after. This is like splashing your face with cold lagoon water brought to you in a hollowed out melon rind. It's fresh and mild and even a little sexy in an indirect way, insofar as it almost hints at clean nude skin.

Projection is light, which suits the simplicity and cleanliness of the scent. Also, the juice itself is fairly weak. You could easily wear two or three sprays and only be noticed by people close to you. It's a bit like an aftershave gel in that respect. It behaves extremely well on a hot day; the scent amps up a bit if you're hot and sweaty, but doesn't get cloying or "perfumey." It's refreshing.

It can be had fairly cheaply online. Lastly, the bottle has a smart, sleek look. Well worth the money you pay, unless you've already got something similar.

The opening of Zegna Uomo is sweet, peppery, clean laundry. The pepper and laundry smell must be the violet. This has almost an aquatic feel. The drydown is very generic, very familiar, like a cheap Nautica scent.

Projection is excellent and lasts all day and night.

The initial phase is centered around a fresh bergamot notion that is quite pleasant and well executed. Quite vivid and uplifting.

Unfortunately, the later phases are less convincing. There is a violet that reeks of laboratory-synthetic character. The nonspecific wood background that is added towards the end is fairly dull.

I get moderate sillage, good projection and six hours of longevity in my skin.

This spring scent is characterised by an agreeable start, which is followed by an exceedingly synthetic and ultra-generic rest. Overall the term mediocrity comes to mind; a safe and mediocre composition. 2.75/5.

Glad I sampled this one before purchasing a full bottle, has just about everything I don't like in my fragrances, fresh artificial synthetic notes galore and one of the worst fake violet notes ever. Try before buying.

Fresh, woody aromatic cologne from Zegna.

Very similar to Essenza di Zegna and Kenneth Cole Signature: Crisp, even woods plus slight spice with a touch of Italian flair. The end stage is akin to Dolce & Gabbana's Light Blue, having a watery-wood quality thereafter.

A good, basic scent from Zegna that seems fairly safe and mainstream.
