Ambre Nuit

Lately I have been on a real amber kick again and this one is stunning. Its blended perfectly, it's so beautiful and wearable. You can smell so many notes and different aspects, but nothing becomes too overpowering. It's not too heavy and in your face, its smoothe.

It turns out that to truly breathe in the magic of Ambre nuit, I had to contrast it with MFK Grand soir on the other wrist. They share a deep core of amber identity, meditative and therapeutic. But where Grand soir slides like clarinet notes into mellifluent vanilla, until it hits an outer rim of camphoric, cristalline bezoin, Ambre nuit is a seamlessly citric amber cloud. Both of them float. Both cast a dark amber spell like a city-lit night sky.

I got a powdered wood chip incense type fragrance, very simple, not a lot of change. It's nice, but it's a lot like many other things I've tried over the years and for this price point, I expected more. Neutral in many ways.

An oriental, sweet to the bone amber fully covered with rose. Actually on my skin it's a rose with an amber background with a pinch of pink pepper and maybe honey as well. The rose is jammy and beautiful. The whole fragrance is definitely leaning towards feminine bu that is okay for me.

Perfect match for those who like oriental rose scents (without oud) with an addition of amber for a change.

The sillage and longevity are impressive so it is easy to overspray that one.

I like Ambre Nuit but it was not at the high level I expected. Mixture of bergamot, rose & amber give this fragrance a nice sophisticated feel. There's a little bit of funk going on in the background. Pleased to own a healthy sized decant but wouldn't pull the trigger on a full bottle. Longevity and projection are below average.

When dreams come true, Ambre Nuit should be worn.

This is a delightful oriental scent.
The amber is dry and crisp, caused by delicious bergamot, grapefruit and a fine rose. The pepper is rather present too.
I could wish for more sillage. On the other hand, I adore the private world this wonderful concoction creates.
Once again I am smitten with a beautiful contradiction: warmth and zest.

In my top ten.
