Latest Reviews of Boss The Scent Elixir for Him
Boss The Scent Elixir For Him is yet another iteration of an iteration of iterations of Paco Rabanne Invictus. What a shame. I was expecting that maybe within this line they would do something similar to what they achieved with the Boss Bottled line, which they brought to a level of “excellence.” Boss Bottled Elixir and Absolu are phenomenal, and even Elixir Triumph, which somehow flies under the radar.
Boss The Scent Elixir For Him doesn’t have the strength one would expect from a fragrance carrying the name Elixir, especially since it lacks any distinct character and is completely lost in a crowd of competitors that smell stronger yet essentially the same. That competition consists of countless flankers of Paco Rabanne Invictus and 1 Million, and even JPG Le Male with all of its flankers. YSL and Valentino haven’t exactly held back either with their Born in Roma iterations. Did I mention CH Bad Boy and the flankers of that line? It’s simply too much of the same thing. Even Prada “made a name for itself” with Paradigme, which was a notorious flop—sad, really.
Conclusion: If this scent profile appeals to you or you’re looking for something like this, and you don’t care about originality or authenticity, then you’re better off going for Invictus Victory, Invictus Victory Elixir, or perhaps Emporio Armani Stronger With You, which is overloaded with flankers. Those would be some richer and more potent options for you.
Originality: 2/10
Scent: 6/10
Longevity: 8/10
Projection: 6/10

It’s certainly generic, but I’d still wear it. The sweetness is well-handled and much less cloying or harsh than something like Amouage Lustre. While they’re very different scents, it’s worth noting they were both released in 2024. The sweetness here doesn’t come from amber or a cheap tonka-coumarin blend; it seems fruit- or berry-based and blends seamlessly with the woods. The lavender isn’t particularly photorealistic and mostly sits in the background, likely filling out the note pyramid or serving a marketing purpose. First impressions suggest this is a solid fragrance. On discounters, it’s a good option for cooler months. Performance is strong, and while it is generic, it doesn’t smell cheap or rough around the edges.

Received a sample of this. My expectations were not exactly high, but my impressions were worse.
It feels like it's screaming LAVENDER, BRO!, WOODS, BRO! and GENERIC SPICES, BRO!, which together create some kind of a "generic synthetic masculine" sauce and that's it. Simple composition made of components that are not paricularly likeable on their own. So the fact that it lasts long and projects well is not exactly an upside for me here.
It's not disgusting and I've smelled worse from Boss in particular, but I don't see much positive about it either.

got an insanely lucky deal on this one which may lower my criteria for it being a thumbs up just fyi.
this is a fun club or bar scent not the most brilliant thing ever made but it does have personality. You definitely need to be able to enjoy sweet frags tho.

Truly lovable. I tried this fragrance on my skin just once but judged it throughly. I have owned ~ 15 fragrances thus far and am a fanatic about scents, however quite picky, never buying anything before smelling it 5+ full cycles through. I recently bought this bottle without much hesitation after only a 'first impression'. On my skin, this scent is the perfect balance of masculinity, complexity, smoothness, boldness, refinery and soft, clean gourmand warmth. For a scent that seems quite versatile and an easy go to, this bottle has a very solid amount of impact (however not cloying.)
I would recommend this for those who are looking for an everyday scent that can also blend into and event scent that is by no means boring. The smaller amount of ingredients speak more to the intricacies of those specifically rather than a lack of complexity or depth.
Some of my other personal designer favorites on my European- American skin in rough order of intensity:
L'eau D'issey, Dior Homme Cologne, Versace Pour Homme, Allure Homme Edition Blanche, Platinum Égoïste, Sean John Unforgivable, Dior Homme, A*men Pure Havanne, La Nuit De L'Homme, Drakkar Noir (jk)
Enjoy
