Latest Reviews of Eragon
Of the three in the Les Extraits collection, Eragon is probably the least overtly synthetic-smelling, but it still doesn’t quite land for me. The woody backbone is very soft and somewhat uninspired, further smoothed out by a touch of leather that doesn’t really add much character.
Overall, it feels quite generic and unoriginal. It’s almost like they took a cypriol-leather idea, muted it down, then layered in a damp, slightly papery patchouli nuance with a hint of artificial vanilla. This just feels like wet cardboard to me
What’s more frustrating is the contrast with something like Perseus from Parfums de Marly, which was only released a year before this one, which felt more coherent and interesting at a much lower price point. This feels like a step backward in comparison, especially considering how much more expensive it is.

Really enjoying Eragon (and the Carious sample as well). Eragon is a fantastic fragrance with noticeable sillage, top-notch performance, satisfying longevity, and moderate projection. It opens with some sweet pleasantries, settling into soft musk and gentle woody notes, with subtle hints of citrus floating through.
I’ll definitely keep enjoying my sample and may pick up a bottle, however, that depends on the price I can get it for and if it make sense. Then again… that question has never really stopped me before. 🤔 Decisions, decisions.
P.S. I picked up a bottle (definitely not at that $550 price, but at a much more convincing deal). Oh brother!
