In Italy, Jasmine and Leather go back a long time. During the Renaissance the fashion of scenting leather gave birth to a passion for perfumed leather accessories, from belts to vests to fans, and jasmine-scented leather gloves.

It was a marriage meant to be: since then Jasmine and Leather have belonged to each other, each contributing its own uniqueness to a timeless note.

I know that this is a rather coarse description, but the opening of Jasmine Leather reminds me of the aroma/taste of Runts candies. Yes, Runts, especially when you would bite into one of the banana shaped ones and nearly chip a tooth. This is shockingly sweet for what I had expected, and I don't find it a pleasure, really.

This soon gives way to a tepid jasmine that quickly gets drowned out by suederal/safraleine a la Tuscan Leather, which I find trite. It has that 'manufactured luxury' feel that I get, like conspicuous consumption and label brandishing. It is hella strong too, no nuance at all.
