Ambrette, mandarin and benzoin, a great quirky, yet oddly addictive creation. This is a great, and unique take on a summer scent.

Cali Dream smelled really familiar, and I realized it resembles Light Blue for Women. It does smell pleasant, but it doesn’t sit well with me that Light Blue exists at a fraction of the cost, and so does Cheap & Chic I Love Love by Moschino. Aside from the cool bottle design, I’d just go for Light Blue or Moschino instead.

Absolutely love the opening of California Dream, a very bright, refreshing and sweet citrus smell.

Within about 30 minutes the linear citric experience gets elevated by the ambrette and musky notes that follow.

It definitely reminds me of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue, one of my girlfriends favorite, both share that soapy-like fresh finish, however, California dream feels far more refined and natural, the musky and amber notes make it smell luxurious.

LB has always lacked projection and longevity, it is a Eau de Toilette after all, whereas California Dream is delivered as a Perfume, nevertheless, California Dream is not a pungent in your face clubbing version of LB.

D&G light blue can be used as a daily driver summer freshie and California Dream as the intimate evening date night counter part, a perfume for special occasions.

The price, as anything crafted by Louis Vuitton, is not cheap but you definitely feel the quality, the sillage and projection on this is phenomenal.

California Dream has that clean ocean breeze purified air smell that I associate with early mornings of fresh breezes near the ocean. There is a also a sun drenched, ozone quality. These fresh notes are found also in Afternoon Swim from Vuitton, however California Dream does not have aquatic notes to go with it. They have isolated that ozonic freshness from the air and removed the swimming pool vibe and also stayed far from ocean or sea water smells. Just sun drenched ozonic breezes. They list mandarin, ambrette, benzoin as notes however I don't really smell these - maybe the opening of mandarins zest smell. The primary aroma is the pure freshness of coastal breeze and sunshine. Another word for it is Prana - which is the expansive energy that fills nature and feeds life. How they captured this in this scent I don't know - but I like the result.

Imagine Creed OV / Mugler Cologne titrated with D&G Light Blue / Versace Man Eau Fraiche.
Except this cuts every synthetic feel out of those juices and instead presents an impossibly natural juicy freshness with a vegetal undertone.
Sillage, projection, longevity are all on par with the asking price.

Sparkling citrus with room-filling woody musk. Has the feel of a few citrus frags from Atelier Cologne, like Love Osmanthus and Bergamote Soleil but also shares similarities with D&G Light Blue. Very unisex.

Performance is very good. This is one of those where the sillage is actually more noticeable than the projection. Up close you can smell it but it's not heavy or strong. However, it radiates into other rooms and hangs around for a long time. Good longevity too, lasts most of the day.
