On the Beach

The opening of On the Beach didn’t really sit well with me. Maybe it’s the way the neroli interacts with the rosemary, but the base is pleasant, and it shares a similar foundation with Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne. While I was smelling this, I kept thinking, “I’ve smelled this before.”

Save some money and just go with the Chanel.

City of Stars is hands down the most feminine out of the three sisters line up: On The Beach, California Dream and City of Stars.

From opening the fragrance starts as a refreshing citrusy fruit (The unmistakable blood orange note) the note quickly blends with the lemon/lime notes, the citrusy vibe stays, but it becomes indistinguishable from other citric fruits.

The sweet coconut accord becomes more noticeable within about one hour. I was surprised how natural and realist the coconut note is, it doesn’t smell like sun tan lotion, it definitely mimics juicy coconut meat. Very yummy !!

City of Stars is a beautiful delicious smelling perfume, however, in my opinion not very versatile… If I was vacationing in the Caribbean, South Florida or the City of Starts I could definitely see myself reaching for this scent more often, but here in North Texas it just feels awkward I don’t see it working out as a autumn/winter scent either the citrusy, coconut and musky floral dry down channels the tropical beach vibes very strongly.

Definitely reminded me of Creeds Virgin Island Water, both are very niche fragrances, although City of Stars leans way more feminine and has far greater projection and silage.

Two Thumbs up.

Very pleasant lime, floral opening, like a beach scent should be. Seems very unisex, doesn't lean either way in the opening. As it dries down, starts to lean more floral and fem, but still unisex enough to still have that non-gender feel.

Never loud but it does have decent projection and lasts 7-8 hours. Just a nice scent overall.
