Les Sables Roses
Louis Vuitton (2019)

Very deep, red spicy rose with slight woody, smooth oud in the back. Its ok, but Nuit de Feu is my favorite LV still. But this one is a very refined take on that oriental arabic rose profile, give it a shot.

25/12/25 edit: This is a watery arabic style rose, its a very unique take on the oriental style, it has a slight pinch of oud, and the roses here are arabic, watery and somewhat spicy, its a gorgeous fragrance, very classy.

Les Sables Roses feels harsh—maybe it’s the black pepper and it’s intentional—but it comes off too screechy for me. I’d rather opt for Oud Satin Mood, which feels much smoother and more refined. The harshness does fade and becomes more tolerable, but the opening is just too powerful and abrasive. Also, there are way too many rose and oud combos out there, and given the price, I’m going to be very critical of this one.

I am typically not a fan of rose, especially the overdone rose oud combo - it is everywhere.
What I like about this however, is the effortless quality it exudes, thanks to the ambergris. It blooms, it shines, it communicates opulence.
Now if you have tried a high specification rose-oud combo, this may not present itself as special. To me it is just right.
