Latest Reviews of Sandalwood and Suede
In the same general vicinity of Santal 33 without being a perfect replica. It takes a bit to get used to the smell but when you do it's not too bad. Unfortunately, I picked this up thinking it was vintage suede, so not what I wanted, but its decent.
This is my first exposure to a Cremo fragrance having picked this one up for $12.99 at the local Ross Store. Right off the bat, I'll admit that I don't pick up much Sandalwood, but Cremo #17 is a very nice smelling soft leather EDT with good projection and longevity on me.
As in 2 or 3 sprays on at bedtime was still going strong at 7 AM and I can smell it on my shirt in the laundry, kind of longevity.
It opens with a clean greenish floral note that passes for fig leaf well enough, but this is where this juice strays from the path.
To me there isn't a detectable sandalwood note but more like a crisp greenish amber note that quickly settles into soft leather drydown that retains the crisp clean sweetness on top.
#17's drydown has the same crisp clean base note that's present in Bvlgari Man Extreme and some older fougeres, that I've seen described as skilled use of oakmoss and ambergris.
In Cremo #17, it lends a $12.99 EDT the longevity and gravitas of a much more expensive fragrance.
I like it for the same reason that I like the Bvlgari fragrances that it channels. It's drydown has me smelling down the front under my shirt hours later just like they do.
I've had 3 people comment positively about it, asking what it was, so it's not just me who likes it. The most recent one that garnered that much attention was Club De Nuit.
I give this one a 8/10 based on unusual 6-8 hours of longevity and great smelling drydown. The main criticism I have is the absence of Sandalwood in the middle notes.

100% a unisex fragrance. women can pull this off no problem. it's also too floral for me. there seems to be other notes not listed that are in the scent that i pick up from it. don't see myself wearing this
